In the 1988 movie 'They Live', director and writer John Carpenter portrayed a nightmarish world where alien invaders secretly controlled and exploited human beings with subliminal messages such as 'BUY', 'OBEY' and 'CONSUME' on every newspaper, billboard and advertisement. As one of the characters explains; They influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realising it.
Of course, John Carpenter was absolutely right. This is science fact, not science fiction. Almost all communications contain hidden messages, some of them very powerful. You just need to know where and how to look.
